The thrilling conclusion to #1 bestselling Shiver trilogy from Maggie Stievater.

In Maggie Stiefvater's SHIVER, Grace and Sam found each other. In LINGER, they fought to be together. Now, in FOREVER, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.

*Spoiler alert for people that haven't read Linger!*

Words to describe Forever: Breathtaking. Heart-stopping. Gut-wrenching. A book that will make you sit down to read it, and by the time you finish, you don’t even realize that it’s 5 AM. You just know that you finished it.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was expecting from Forever, just that I wanted Grace and Sam get out of it alive, even if a little worse for wear. But what I got was something so much more. It was the perfect resolution to the entire series, the only resolution that would be in anyway believably possible.

Linger left off in a very tough place for everyone, and Maggie picks it right back up, immediately throwing us to the wolves. (Ha, ha, ha.... bad pun, sorry.) The novel starts with a bang, and goes out with a bang (which is another bad pun that you won't get until you read the book).

Cole is still my favorite character. He has become such a central part of the plot, along with Isabel. An he's a beautiful character--beautifully written, beautifully witty, and beautifully damaged. But he steps up to the plate, and he's almost a completely different person by the end. Sam also changes greatly by the end of the book. He finds his inner-strength, and this newfound strength helps him do what he must to save the people he loves. Grace finally stands up to her absentee parents and asserts herself as an adult, but she's struggling with the fact that she is now a werewolf, and she could potentially be killed by the oncoming force that's threatening to kill all of the Mercy Falls wolves.

Nothing is without a price, though, and some people die in this book that I didn't think would, but then it wouldn't be the same if they didn't. Again, Maggie writes in that fluid, poetic way that makes her story just come to life on the page. I give this novel 5 out of 5 stars
