My Current TBR Pile

This is my current YA TBR pile. As you can see, it's quite ridiculously long, and this isn't including the non-YA books. My goal is to bring it down to 50 books by the end of the year. Hopefully I can, because these books are threatening to bury me in my own room!

  1. Delirium, The Maze Runner, Going Bovine, and The Year We Were Famous are all on my TBR mountain, too.

Sovay's an interesting historical fiction book, not the best of Rees' but still pretty good. It shifts from the Robin Hood-esque story to the French Revolution, though.

Death Cloud and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies series are enjoyable reads, too. The 2nd PP+Z book is better than the 3rd in my opinion.

  2. There are SO many good books on this list.

Also a lot I have on my own, so I can't recommend them ALL - which probably wouldn't help, anyway.

Entwined is fabulous. LJ Smith, IMO, is for a weekend. I can read a bind-up of hers in 2-3 days, but usually have to read something else along with it because of the pacing.

The Red Queen's Daughter is one that I wish more people would read. It's enchanting, has lovely history, and adds just a touch of magic to everything.

The Iron Fey series will seriously be BLOWN THROUGH. No joke. You'll find that series easy to consume.

Sirenz and Divergent were recent reads I loved. Um...Misguided Angel and Delirium were fab.

There are a few on there - Dark Mirror, Fallen, Old Magic - that look good, and I haven't read. We should read some of them together or something! :D

Halo was one that didn't work for me. Lyrical writing, but the world building is really shoddy...and it's pretty much inspy fiction. Everyone's white, Christian, and happy. And it didn't make much sense, and the romance was really...not romantic. More like Edward on steroids.

Gone was okay. Simple writing, interesting plot, but the characters feel like caricatures. Also, Grant basically adds on plot twist after plot twist just to extend the book. It really doesn't need the length it has.

  3. Gosh, you own all these? Although I'm just as bad, I have 97 books that I own and have yet to read... And that's not counting all the egalleys I have for review. I'll never finish them all..

    As for those I've read:
I'd say start with Catching Fire and Mockingjay, the series is just so awesome, noone should have those on their shelves unread.

I absolutely loved Delirium and Unearthly. The ending to Delirium is a major cliffhanger, but it's sooooo good! And Unearthly has me believing that angelfiction can actually be amazing.

I really enjoyed Shade and My Soul To Steal.

Halo was disappointing for me (as John mentioned: the romance thing is NOT romantic, it's weird. And the main character suffer from the 'too-stupid-to-live' syndrome) and Imaginary Girls just wasn't my kind of story, but hopefully you'll like them.

Anyway, looks like you've got your work cut out for you! Happy reading :)

  4. Wow thanks so much guys on the awesome responses! Looks like I'll be moving up Delirium, The Iron Fey, and the rest of the Hunger Games series ASAP.

@John and @Daisy, I hate it when books are like that! I was really hoping to like Halo, because the cover is awesome, and I had read a few reviews on it that liked it. But from what you guys are telling me, seems like I'll just want to throw it against the wall, lol.

And that sucks about Gone. That one's been on my TBR for like 2 years now, I bought it a long time ago but just never read it. I'll still give it a chance, see what happens.

Thanks again guys for your awesome recommendations! :) I really appreciate it!

  7. Wow you have quite a long tbr list there. I've read a few, have some on myshelf I haven't read, and then there are some I'm dying to get and read. I've heard so many good things about divergent, and I need to go buy it. Paranormalcy I loved. (I know some people didn't but I thought it was cute and I loved Evies quirkiness) I loved the nightworld books by L.J Smith they're long but good. I wasn't thrilled with Misguided Angel. I do like the series as a whole though. Beautiful Creatures was good slow start until about the middle. Humm I know there's more but that's what I got so far. :)

  8. Wow. You've got a long tbr list. But I've many books own and unread either. I have purchased Imaginary Girls, Divergent and haven't read them too.

I have read Paranormalcy and it's great! I love it! It's one of my all-time favourite books. I hope you enjoy it.

Besides, I have 2 hamsters. And they are so lovely. :D
