Stephenie Meyer does it again...

So, as I'm sure most of you delectable blueberries have heard, Stephenie Meyer is releasing yet another book--"novella"-- called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. While Twilight is FAR from my favorite book/series, I'm actually very interested in reading this. I do enjoy SM's work, mildly, and hey, its for a good cause! One dollar from every book purchased gets donated. So, might as well, right? And anyway, if you want to get it free, you can download it from www.breetanner.com between June 7th and July 5th.

"I Heart You, You Haunt Me" Review

Book Title: I Heart You, You Haunt Me

Author: Lisa Schroeder

* * *

Girl meets boy.

Girl loses boy.

Girl gets boy back...

...sort of.

Ava can't see him or touch him, unless she's dreaming. She can't hear hisvoice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she'scrazy, but she knows he's here.

Jackson. The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. He's back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.

When I first started reading this book, I thought I wasn’t going to like it. I’m not usually a fan of free verse, and this book began a little oddly for me. But I simply kept going, and soon I was into the story. It wasn’t the best free verse story I’ve read, but certainly good and well written.

I read this book in the course of an hour and a half. This is definitely one of those quick reads that flies by right before your eyes. I would recommend it if you have to wait at the doctor’s office, or something like that.

Character wise, I wasn’t totally convinced. I just think everything happened so quickly, and since it was written in a sort of sporadic free verse, there wasn’t much time to get into the Ava’s head. What I did like, though, is that Jackson wasn’t your typical heartthrob. He was bald (shaved, technically) and had a goatee, and while that’s not really my brand of guy, it’s nice to see a little diversity in the YA boys.

My favorite aspect about this story was the plot. I loved how the whole ‘boy haunts girl’ thing happened, and more importantly (please don’t take this the wrong way) I loved how Jackson died. It certainly was well thought out and believable. Everything that happened seemed true, almost as if it could happen to me.

Ratings:

Cover: 4/5

Writing: 3/5

Plot: 4/5

Characters: 2/5

Creativity bonus: 4/5

Overall: 3/5

Who I would recommend to: As I said earlier, this book is perfect for the doctor’s office waiting room, or the orthodontist. Anywhere that you need to be entertained for a good hour or so.

Oh, I've been away for far too long...

Hello all my precious pink frosted cupcakes!

I apologize for being away for so long! But, I'm back know and I'm staying for good. I have quite a few fun things and reviews planned, along with GIVEAWAYS and contests. Oops, did I just say that? Yes, yes I did. :)

Anyway, stay tuned for a new review. I plan to post at least two a week. Also, I will be revamping the blog to make it more gorgeously amazing than it already is. Please bear with me through that, although I should be through we that quite soon. There will be unfinished pages that are in the works, so just keep that in mind.

My new review on "I Heart You, You Haunt Me" should be up within the next two hours.

Love and huggles
Lolita
