Daimon was an awesome introduction to the Half-Blood series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I've been told by several bloggers that I needed start this series, and when the publisher offered this prequel e-book for free, I couldn't resist. I've been hearing things about Jennifer's work for a very long time, since the ARCs for Half-Blood were being distributed, so I knew there was definitely something good here.Daimon by Jennifer L. For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.
According to her mother, that’s a good thing.
But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.
Let me just say this: the moment I finished Daimon, I jumped onto my computer and ordered Half-Blood. That's how good this prequel novella is. We're introduced to Alex, who is a pretty kick butt heroine! This was a pretty short little snippet of her story, so I don't feel like I really got to know her well, but from what I saw I know I'm going to like her very much. I'm definitely eager to read Half-Blood very soon, and I give Alex a solid 8 on the Bad-Ass Meter.
Full of action and written superbly, I recommend Daimon for anyone that wants to get a taste of Jennifer L. Armentrout's work. 5 out of 5 stars.
I really want to read this and half blood. Can't wait for your review of that.:)
